Willow hybrid is a common term used to describe various hybrids of the Salix genus. There is a lot of variability in this genus, with hundreds of species and thousands of hybrids of those species. In general, a hybrid willow will have more vigor than either of its parents.
Some of these willow hybrids I sell for utility and ornamental purposes. There are different tree shapes, stem colors, and rates of growth. Uses can include such things as fast growing shade trees, windbreaks, screening, firewood, biomass, and other uses that need quick growth.
If you are looking for the fastest growing tree, you can try my Bigfoot Willow Hybrid. This tree can attain rates of growth over 10 feet a year. This fast growing willow hybrid can grow over an inch a day in the summer. The fast growth can start in early spring and can continue into fall. Having such a long growing season of growth is what also helps the Bigfoot Hybrid Willow to attain feet of growth in a year.
